I know, this is an odd thing to find in a blog about mathematical skills, or any blog with educational messages. However, having said that, I think we would be amiss to not address watching television or other media. No children should watch too much television. However, children will watch television or media of some kind starting at a very young age. Knowing this, it is important to make sure we keep track of what our young children are watching. If we do let our children watch television at a young age we should try to make the shows educational. Shows named on the last page like Numberblocks will likely still be entertaining for kids of this age but as they get older more complex shows like Ask the Storybooks, The Who Was Show, The Magic School Bus, and Wild Kratts may be appropriate.
