Puzzles are really good exercise for our brains and can help us develop and strengthen our visuospatial skills.

Puzzles can be great for children of all ages. The age of the child doing the puzzle will likely determine the number and size of the pieces. Children ages 6-8 are going to be able to do more complicated puzzles. Their fine motor and visuospatial skills are stronger and therefore they can do puzzles with smaller pieces and this will allow their fine motor skills to keep getting stronger.

Even though children in this age group of 6-8 years old, are older and need less help than their younger counterparts, they still may need help. However, we need to find ways to help them without making the puzzle too simple and making them feel like they cannot do the puzzle alone. Puzzles are a good way to give children the opportunity to struggle and they can be fun to do together! It is important that children learn how to do hard things and keep pushing through.
