Uno cards can be used for quantity discrimination. In addition to the UNO deck of cards, cut a 3 x 5 index card in half. On one half, write =. On the other half, write >. This > can be flipped upside down to show <.

For this task, children would start with the UNO deck face down, and flip two cards at once so they lay on the table face up. Children should compare the numbers on the two cards, and correctly place either <, >, or = between the two cards. As students start to master addition, subtraction, and multiplication, they could lay two cards on one side with +, -, or x between them, and two cards face-up on another side with the same operation between them. Children would then compare the sum (+), difference (-), or product (x) on either side, and inset the appropriate symbol >, >, or =.
