Number Formation Rhymes

0. Around and around and around we go. When we get home we have a zero!

1. Number 1 is like a stick. A straight line down is very quick. (Start at the top and down we run, that’s the way we make a one!)

2. Around and back on the railroad track. Two, Two. Two, Two!

3. Around a tree, around a tree. That’s how we make a number 3!

4. Down and over, then down once more. That’s how we make a number 4!

5. A straight line down, then around. A hat on top and five is a clown. (Down and around. Then we stop. Finish a five with a line on top.) (Down and around and a flag on high, that’s the way we make a five.)

6. Start at the top and curve around quick. Close the loop to make a six. (Curve around and make a loop, number six has a hoop!)

7. Across the sky then slant the line down, you made the best seven in town. (Across the sky and down from heaven, that’s the way we make a seven!)

8. Start with an “S” but close the gate, then you’ll have a number 8.

9. At the top make a circle then down with the line, that’s how you make a number 9. (Make a loop and then a line, that’s the way you make a nine.)
