Allow your child to help plan your errands for the day. If you have several stops to make, draw a basic map, and let your child help you decide which to do first. Should you go to the library, post office, or grocery store first? Make sure you listen to the explanation of why their order would be best. Make it part of your routine conversation to ask your child why they decided/think/recommend what they do.
