This game can be played with 2 or 4 players
They will need one piece of graph or grid paper (there is one below to download and print if desired) per game, two dice, and each player will need a different colored marker, pen, or pencil
Each player starts the game in one corner
Every player rolls two dice and the person with the highest total goes first
On each turn, roll both dice
Use the two numbers reflected on the dice to draw a box (the two numbers are the sides of the box - one should be the length and one should be width)
The area of the box must be calculated in order for the box to count towards a player’s score
If the players have started multiplication in school, the area of the box should be calculated using multiplication
If the players have not started multiplication they should add up the number of little boxes in their drawn box
Players continue to alternate turns until the page is full, and no more boxes can be drawn
On each turn the boxes must connect to each other somehow
This can be done side on side (see the bottom right corner)
It can be made more difficult by only allowing boxes to be connected on their corners (see the top left corner)

The winner is the person who covers the most area of the page, which is not equivalent to the number of boxes drawn
This game covers the following mathematical concepts:
Addition
Multiplication
Counting
Strategic thinking
