Help your child learn vocabulary associated with size. Provide an assortment of toys. Have your child sort between big/large/biggest/largest and small/little/smallest. Next, have your child sort items from smallest to largest, or largest to smallest. Talk about the size of different family members or pets/animals. You can purchase stacking rings or stacking cups to help with this idea. Eventually you will want to transfer this to other toys, as well.

Arrange stuffed animals, blocks, toy trucks, etc. in order of size, and use the vocabulary to describe the size frequently. Of note, these stacking rings and cups can also be used to introduce ordinal numbers (i.e. "red is first, pink is second, blue is third..."). Even if your child can not produce the words yet, it doesn't hurt for them to hear your use of the vocabulary.
